A Pictoral Tour of Sprague…
Posted By Kate on April 20, 2009
Sprague Farm & Brew Works of Venango, PA has grown to be one of our favorite local microbreweries due to its devoted and friendly owners, Brian and Minnie, its welcoming and eclectic atmosphere, tasty beer, and the highly anticipated opening of the ”unique barn brew pub,” or aptly dubbed Bierhalla, in May.
The beers that Sprague has created over the past 2.5 years are as follows:
- Hellbender – Robust Porter
- Ale Mary – Summer Wheat
- Rust Belt Amber Ale
- Kick Bock – Double Bock
- Fighting Scotchtoberfest – Scotch Ale very malty, low hopped
- Effin’ Beer – Springtime Dark Wheat with mellow roasted flavor
- French and Indian Pale Ale – made from home grown Indian Corn and pumpkins
- IBUD 59 – I.P.A., bitter
- Bliss Berry – made from 100lbs of farm fresh black berries
*They’re all good, but I must say that my favorite is Effin’ Beer while Chad loves the IBUD 59.

And, as promised, here is our pictoral tour of Sprague (but it’s WAY better in person, of course)!
Hope you enjoyed the pictoral tour; we’ll be back with more after the Bierhalla opens. For now – Cheers!
