What’s a better way to kick off your summer than with a FREE beer and food pairing event at Wegmans?  Stop by any of the Pennsylvania Wegmans stores (Allentown, Bethlehem, Downingtown, Erie, Erie West, Harrisburg, Nazareth, Scranton, State College, Warrington, Wilkes-Barre, and Williamsport) to “taste great beers and easy entertaining foods that complement them.  You’ll also be able to talk to regional brewery reps and [Wegmans] culinary experts!”

The Peach Street Wegmans is rumored to be sampling Victory, Presque Isle Pilsner, Stoudts, and they will have Lindemans Lambic with lemon sorbet and fruits to to enhance the dessert experience.

So start your summer off in the right direction; go to Wegmans and learn about what beers you should pair with what foods so you can be the life of any party!

  1. I hope many people took advantage of this nice event. It was well organized & the beer/food was very good.Gotta buy some clams! Hopefully they will have more of these types of presentations. If Wegman’s put on a full sit-down meal/beer pairings & charged a fee,I’d definetely go.We took home some Hoegaarden Witbeer & Victory V-Twelve—life is good.

  2. I hope you enjoyed our Lindeman dessert.

  3. The Lindeman dessert was fabulous! Put the Black Cherry Lambic on—pancakes? It was THAT good!

  4. Just an FYI…Wegmans DOES plan on having more and any feedback or suggestions you may have from the last event, please pass along. My husband works at Wegmans as Manager of the meat department and he participated in the event. Feel free to let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions for future events…I’ll be sure to pass along.

  5. I went to this event too. I thought it was a lot of fun and very tasty. I even blogged about the beers and what they were served with (http://andthenifound5dollars.blogspot.com/2009/06/im-not-beer-drinker.html).

I went home with the Lindeman Lambic and almost bought the Victory V-Twelve (but you are limited on how much beer you are able to purchase at Wegmans – equivilant to one 12 pack or two 6 packs).

I hope they do another pairing because I will definitely be there.

(For vegetarians, this would have been a tough event to taste at. There were only 2 stations that didn’t have meat products. But at least you could try the beer at each one.)

  6. I think they did a wonderful job pairing. Each beer compilmented the dishes very well.I hope they do this again. It really helps broadens peoples spectrums when it comes to beer.
