A Saranac kind of Summer
Posted By Kate on June 9, 2009
Lately, Chad and I have been sampling Saranac’s beers at our old standby, the Six Pack House of Beer-West, by purchasing some singles with their ever-prevalent make-your-own-6-pack deal.
Most recently, we sampled the Summer Ale, Pomegranate Wheat, Amber Wheat, and Summer Brew and were pleasantly surprised with all of them.
The Summer Ale is light, as you would expect, and has an easy taste. The Pomegranate is also light, with just enough hint of the Pomegranate that it doesn’t overpower the palatte. The Amber Wheat combines two of my favorite beers in a lovely synergy that pleases. And finally, the Summer Brew is similar to the UK’s Shandy in that it’s a lemon-flavored beer, but it’s not as strong as some of the others I have tried, which was a pleasant surprise.
We think our next move will be to purchase the 12 Beers of Summer since it includes 6 varieties of light, cold, tasty beers to quench the thirst of anyone’s Summer whimsy.
With the term “Honeybear” close to our hearts, it also doesn’t hurt that the Adirondak-located brewery utilizes the bear as a fun character on their libations.
So head on over to your favorite distributor or shop and pick up some Saranac frosties to cool down on those imminent hot & humid Erie summer days and nights that we all know and love.
And, as always, tell ‘em ErieBrewed sent ya!

It would have been nice if you’d posted the address of the “Six Pack House of Beer – West”. I’ve no clue where they are located, even after visiting their “webpage” .. lots of ’social networking’, but very little info.
Cheers
Try reading the myspace page. There is a spot that mentions the addresses of both shops. When they mention their addresses, that means they are located at those addresses. Here is another tip: the phonebook gives out addresses also. Look up “Six Pack House of Beer” and you will see two addresses. Those addresses you see are the addresses that they are located. If you cannot locate a phonebook, try the internet. It will give you addresses of almost any business in the US. See, there are so many ways that you can find addresses and you won’t even have to critique anyones posts doing so. BTW, if you are from Erie and don’t know where the six pack shops are, put down your Bud and try new beers.
Mike is correct in that their address is actually located on their MySpace page. We have also written about them several times on our site and have provided the address through links that way. I’m sorry you couldn’t find it, but I promise you it was there!
Well, “Mike”, first of all, I’m NOT from Erie … I’m NOT even from Pa. After bringing up the Myspace page, I did find the store’s location … buried underneath the Beer Song video. As for looking things up in the phonebook, sorry, don’t have any Erie listings in my Madison, OH. phonebook. Any place which wants to promote their business won’t make finding their place a production. I can bring up any number of purveyors of beer, and their addresses are prominently located on their well organized websites (not on a ‘MySpace page’). You may be a BMC drinker “Mike”, but the last one of those I had was probably before you were born. I think I’ll just go and have one of my own homebrews for now. There always seems to be a ‘god’ on these blog sites. Guess you are it for this site, huh “Mike”?
Cheers
Nice reply, “COON”. I was just trying to say that before you send negative comments about something, just read it. If you did find the addresses, why would you send such a comment? Sorry for offending you so much. BTW, I am older than you think…probably older than you. I am not a “god” as you would like to say to redeem yourself, but I can guarantee I know alot more about the beverages available in PA. than you know. Enjoy your home brew.
By the way, you made it a production.
